Meet your Palm Springs Power 2010 Summer Interns! – 1st Edition

The Palm Springs Power welcome 11 interns to the Coachella Valley this summer and they are coming from all over the United States.  Here is an introduction to some of this summer’s interns that have already arrived!

Brian Mortensen – Social/Interactive Media

Mizzou

Brian Mortensen hails from Chatham, New Jersey and recently graduated from the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri.  Brian graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Radio/TV Journalism.  While a Mizzou Tiger, Brian was a PA announcer for Missouri Athletics and covered Mid-Missouri sports for KOMU-NBC 8, the NBC affiliate in Columbia.  When watching Major League Baseball, Brian likes to root for the New York Mets.

Bryan Meadows – Marketing and Operations

Oklahoma State University

Bryan Meadows is from Allen, Texas and currently attends Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma.  He is majoring in Sports Management and works for the OSU Athletic Marketing Office.  Prior to attending Oklahoma State, Bryan played baseball for two years for the Cisco Junior College Wranglers.  Bryan enjoys rooting for the Texas Rangers every summer.

Jeff DaleyMarketing and Operations

Cal State Fullerton

Jeff Daley visits the Coachella Valley this summer from Fullerton, California where he will be graduating from Cal State Fullerton this summer.  While he attends CSUF, Jeff grew up in the City of Orange, California.  Jeff will be graduating with a degree in Communications (Advertising).  Before he attended Call State Fullerton, Jeff played baseball for two years for the Fullteron Community College Hornets.  Prior to interning with the Power, Jeff interned for Etnies Skate Company (Sole Technology).  As a SoCal native, Jeff is a diehard Angels fan.

Jordan Loperena – Radio Commentary/Media Relations

The University of Iowa

Jordan Loperena was born and raised in Lake Zurich, IL and recently graduated from The University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa with a double major in Health and Sports Studies and Communications Studies.  After playing ice hockey for the Iowa Hawkeyes as a freshman, Jordan shifted to sports media.  Jordan was the Sports Director at KRUI – The University of Iowa Student Radio Station for his junior and senior years, proudly covering Iowa Football’s 2009 season and trip to the 2010 FedEx Orange Bowl.  While at Iowa, Jordan also received the 2009 Hawkeye Award for The University of Iowa’s Most Outstanding Student Organization Leader.  During his senior year, Jordan also interned with the Iowa Athletic Department and the Big Ten Network and also did play-by-play and color commentary for the Big Ten Network. Jordan is a lifelong fan of the Chicago White Sox. 

Reggie Gossett – Marketing and Operations

Oklahoma State University

Reggie Gossett, like fellow intern Bryan Meadows, is also from Allen, Texas and currently attends Oklahoma State University.  Reggie is majoring in Sports Management and Marketing and is going to graduate at the conclusion of the Fall 2010 semester.  Prior to working with the Palm Springs Power, Reggie interned with the Oklahoma State University Athletic Marketing Office.  He is also the Vice President of the Sports Management Club.  Reggie also enjoys rooting for the Texas Rangers.

Tomorrow you will meet Nikkole Zwolenik (University of Oklahoma) and Rachel Frey (University of Texas) … our 2 interns emerging from the Red River Rivalry!

  1. Sounds like a great group y’all have this season. Can’t wait to come out to some games and see how good of a show y’all put on this year. POWER games are the best. Best time and money spent in the Valley!!!
